Alright. This was a challenge in so many senses of the word.
First of all it was written for the Slayers Livejournal community Ameliazellove's ([link]) chimera challenge, where the topic was to draw/write Zel as the human and Amelia as the chimera. This struck me as the most obvious idea, and I'm pretty certain many others had the same idea. I've tried to wait with reading/viewing the others participation, because I know that if I accidentally draw/write something that's been made before, I'll just end up tossing it away, even though there's nothing wrong with more takes on the same idea. Second of all this was a challenge because I have NO time in December, and it had to be done by January, so it forced me to think outside my usual, pseudo-perfectionistic box. It's drawn directly on the computer and speed-coloured (initial idea was just to do the lineart and that would suffice). Even then it turned out that I just can't seem to get rid of the nagging thought that it wasn't finished. Thirdly, this was a challenge because I totally reedited the text for it about halfway through, and thus there was a lack of space. My comics seem to suffer from this whenever I do them on the computer. So, I edited it again, but to no avail. I considered (and started to) redraw it with some more panels and more space for text, but screw it. Here you go! I don't own the Slayers. And in the unlikely event that somebody might think that I'm making any money on this, I'd like to underline the fact that this is purely for the laughs and sense of accomplishment of it. Slayers © .Hajime Kanzaka Oh, and where is Gourry? Gourry was outside, keeping Amelia from being present when Zel woke up, so that Lina could break it to him gently. However, seeing how Amelia now has demon ears, speed and strenght, he couldn't quite hold her back. And that's saying something! |

Anyways, you're right. When I struggle to get the colouring and lineart right, I end up not producing anything at all!

Great job on a 'speed job', too! I hate doing the coloring part myself, so you already outshine my better efforts.
Thank you for the compliment. It helps when you have a whole lot of experience in using the sodding tablet.
